All our chickens are raised outside on wide, open pasture in what we call a chicken tractor. This provides protection, but is open on the bottom for the chickens to forage and scratch for seeds, bugs, etc. They are moved everyday so they never run out of new ground to explore. They get plenty of sunshine, fresh air, and room to be chickens. Their environment stays clean and they stay healthy and happy! Their diet consists of what they forage and a supplement of locally sourced non-GMO feed and of course, plenty of fresh water. No antibiotics, no injections, and no artificial inputs of any kind! The price is $3.75 per pound, dressed weight. The target dressed weight for a bird is 6.5 lbs. Many factors (gender, activity level, how much they eat, etc.) could vary this target weight by a few pounds. Dressed weight typically ranges from 5-8 lbs. Minimum order of 5 chickens required with a deposit due of $10.00 per chicken. Product drop offs will be made to the St. Louis and Kansas City, MO areas once per month. Time and dates TBD as processing date is set.
